The For Me Provider Collaborative is a partnership of seven mental health service providers (NHS trusts and independent sector providers) working across five Integrated Care Systems, with a total population of around 5.5 million people. We deliver low and medium adult secure mental health services, including:
About us

Together, we are:
- Investing in community-based specialist care by putting more resources into local mental health services to reduce offending type behaviours at an earlier opportunity. For example, Alan, who has a learning disability, has encountered the criminal justice system. To reduce his risk of reoffending, he could be seen by a team of health care specialists, locally.
- Helping people reduce risk and reoffending with specialist treatments and risk management work. Local resident Sabina was found guilty of Actual Bodily Harm at Crown Court. The judge recommended a hospital order for assessment and treatment of her psychosis. Once well enough, and the risk of harm to others was reduced, she was discharged back into the community, supported by a local specialist community team.
- Ensuring individuals can access appropriate treatment while in the criminal justice system. For Max, his mental health deteriorated in prison, so he was transferred to a specialist secure hospital for assessment and treatment. Once established on medication, he was able to return to prison.
- Providing treatment in a safe, secure environment suitable to an individual’s mental health needs. Having been detained in an acute hospital, Sean’s risk could no longer be managed in this environment. He was admitted to a secure hospital and after treatment and risk management work, could safely return to the community.
Making secure adult mental health care more local, connected, and efficient, whilst ensuring people get the least restrictive support they need, closer to home are key aims for the Provider Collaborative, which is led by Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust.
Specialised commissioning
Our three provider collaboratives are supported by a commissioning hub team, based at Slade House, Oxford.
The team is formed of subject matter experts in Commissioning, Finance, Project Management, Data, Communications and Engagement, plus the Single Point of Access (SPA) administrative team. Together they work across the three Specialised Mental Health Provider Collaboratives to support the services.
Our vision
Our vision is that those receiving these services and the clinicians delivering them, will have greater influence and involvement in service delivery. This, in turn, will enable us to reinvest funding into improved community services and care pathways for people and their families.
Our core aims
Our goal is improving the lives of our patients and the experience of our staff across the collaborative network.
Aligning our partnership approach to delivering these roles and responsibilities is key.
Together, we aim to:
- Improve secure care pathways for care closer to home and in the least restrictive setting.
- Improve experience, making sure we involve people in service review and design, and listen to their views.
- Focus on the prevention of secure inpatient admission, so people are only admitted to hospital where clinically appropriate.
- Invest in new services and better community facilities, to improve ‘step-down’ (rehabilitation) and to reduce the length of stays.
- Work as a system, redesigning our services to fit the needs of people and support recovery.
- Increase our focus on prevention, recovery and self-care.
